We'll start tweaking, and hopefully we'll suss out the situation quickly so we can get back to the madness. We also jumped on multiplayer, and while it's still as mindblowing as ever, we were having some big lag problems this time around on a LAN game, and like the original, we're still having problems with inaccurate car positioning. So far it's a stress test, but well worth the effort.
MIDTOWN MADNESS 2 TRAILER CRACK
I can't wait to crack this open and see if the sheer number of tracks hold up as you get farther in the game. Midtown looks to be a solid sequel to the original, with a lot more depth as well.
MIDTOWN MADNESS 2 TRAILER DRIVER
The Cabbie and Stunt Driver crash courses are a great new addition so far, but they definitely take the difficulty level even higher - but believe me, you'll keep trying because you want the new cars and skins, won't you? The textures are much more detailed than earlier builds we saw, and new fog effects (check out the headlights in the screenshots) and nighttime lighting are very impressive. Fortunately, your career is always updated every time you beat a specific race, and you can always switch over to another mode and take a breather. My hand's still sore from pounding the desk after failing a blitz course for the fifteenth time.
The modes are all intact, and provide the stiff competition you expect from the series. I've also noticed that you do a lot more spinning and flipping when you're sideswiped by another competitor, which is great if you're the one doing the swiping, but frustrating if you're about to finish a race and find yourself careening out of control from hitting a tree at the very end.
This time around they're picking up a little slower, and spinning out much easier. The police cruisers were unstoppable in the preview, a perfect balance of speed and control. They've definitely tweaked the cars for the final version, as well. Grass and rain suddenly have an effect on your driving skills, and the gold is suddenly hidden in alleyways, or precariously perched on the Embarcadero building in multiplayer. We finally received the final copy of the game in, and I'm just beginning to notice the differences from the preview copy from a while back. The first game had us laughing and screaming for weeks, and the sequel doubles the appeal with two cities and even more cars. What this is is what the title implies - insanity with a steering wheel. We've been hearing talk around the web that someone's been calling this game a "racing simulation." I don't know who this people are, or when they recently drove the wrong way down a freeway at 90mph, but this is any but.
